Evangeline Lai is interested in observe the nature, she likes draw the pattern.

And her works full of green colour. Evangeline is an enthusiastic designer and dreamer. Her graduate collection ‘Nature Reflection’ visually takes inspiration from nature forms and pattern, lake reflection, specifically focusing on trees and the detail in their bark. To create her pieces, she uses layers of laser-cut cherry wood and acrylic, sublimated with close-up photographs of bark texture. These built up layers give her pieces a dioramic effect.

Evangeline’s work forms the nature tree bark detail reflect in the lake, which explore the detail truly be seen through in the reflection, then it is seems like see through another sides of nature. This collections of contemporary necklace aesthetically influenced by her own style of drawing.

At the further development of her collection, she combines metal with her wood and acrylic piece, which she explores different ‘tree bark’ pattern on her three dimensional metal.

She use press machine to press the fabric on the top of metal, which in order to make sure the pattern clearly be seen on the surface. And then she use press forming machine make metal be three dimensional which Evangeline like her work closely bound up with her drawing styles.  The collection include earring, brooch, ring, necklace, and bracelet.
